Construction Cost Estimator

Alberta Garage Builders is a fast-growing residential construction company specializing in custom garages and garden suites across Alberta. We focus on well-organized projects, clear processes, and quality builds — without chaos, endless revisions, or unrealistic timelines.

We are currently looking for a Construction Cost Estimator who understands how construction really works and wants to be part of a stable, professional team where their work directly impacts successful projects.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

• Reviewing architectural drawings, plans, and specifications to fully understand project scope
• Preparing accurate, realistic cost estimates for garages and garden suites
• Creating detailed breakdowns for labor, materials, and subcontractors
• Requesting, reviewing, and comparing supplier and subcontractor quotes
• Updating estimates as designs, materials, or scope evolve
• Maintaining clean, organized estimate files and revision history
• Working closely with Project Managers and Sales to ensure pricing aligns with timelines and client expectations
• Supporting basic cost tracking and reporting during the project lifecycle

What We’re Looking For

• 1+ year of experience in residential construction or estimating
• Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and workflows
• Ability to work confidently with drawings, numbers, and project details
• High attention to detail — you care about accuracy and clarity
• Organized, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple estimates
• Basic computer skills;

experience with estimating or project tools (Asana or similar) is an asset

Strong Assets (Nice to Have)

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Familiarity with Alberta building codes or permitting processes
• Experience with garages, garden suites, or residential renovation projects
