The Executive

Associate (EA) serves as a key point of contact and communication link for Legal and Privacy’s leadership, portfolio, and committees relevant to the work of Legal and Privacy. As the EA, you will provide advice, counsel, options, recommendations and perspectives to the Executive Lead, Legal and Privacy office, and their portfolio regarding Health Shared Services matters, projects, and issues. This position will build consistency and continuity within and between the portfolio and organizationally, while providing background and strategic advice to the executive on issues related to administrative management, policies, and organizational matters. This position is located in Edmonton and is eligible for hybrid work arrangement.

Description

The Executive Associate provides senior administrative support to the Executive Lead, Legal and Privacy; the Legal and Privacy portfolio; and Health Shared Services. Reporting to the Executive Lead, the Executive Associate offers advice, options, and recommendations on matters affecting the office, portfolio, and organization. The role manages issues, coordinates administrative activities, and ensures the executive can focus on strategic leadership. This position builds consistency across the portfolio and organization while supplying background, analysis, and strategic guidance on administrative, policy, and organizational matters.

The Executive

Associate supports long‑range planning by maintaining timelines and guidelines aligned with Health Shared Services and portfolio priorities.

Key responsibilities include issues management, strategic planning support, committee and project coordination, stakeholder liaison, and executive support services. The role ensures effective administration and flow of information for the Executive Office, the portfolio, and Health Shared Services.

The Executive

Associate also develops strong internal and external relationships, serving as a liaison across the organization and with outside partners to support effective representation and communication.

  • *Required Qualifications:**

A minimum of a diploma in a related area or a university degree in health services administration or business administration. 7 years’ management level administrative support experience and experience supporting executives or senior leadership. Equivalencies of education and experience will be considered.

  • *Additional Required Qualifications:**

Demonstrates an ability to be discreet in dealing with highly confidential and sensitive information. Proven ability in drafting documents and preparing speaking notes, presentations, and other communications.

Experience working independently within a large organization with a variety of staffing groups. Proven ability to work collaboratively with other team members from other areas of expertise and with the most senior management within the organization. Proven ability to work within a team as a contributing member.

Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to gain extensive knowledge of Health Shared Services strategic direction, operating requirements, as well as the policies
