Role Description
This is a volunteer, role based in Alberta, for a Board Member; Member at Large; an or Executive Member. The role involves actively participating in board meetings, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making, and providing governance oversight. Key tasks include representing Alberta TrailNet Society, fostering partnerships with stakeholders, reviewing policies, and supporting fundraising and advocacy initiatives. Board members are expected to promote the organization’s mission and vision while maintaining a collaborative and professional environment.
Qualifications
- Leadership and governance skills, with experience in strategic planning and decision-making
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement and relationship-building
- Knowledge of nonprofit operations, fundraising strategies, and financial oversight
- Familiarity with trail development, environmental advocacy, or community planning is an asset
- Commitment to the mission of promoting sustainable trail networks and active living
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment
- Previous experience serving on a board or in a leadership capacity is beneficial
