Volunteer Call Taker

Boots on the Ground Alberta

We're Looking for Volunteer Call Takers | Boots on the Ground Alberta

If you've worked in law enforcement, corrections, fire, EMS, nursing, 911 dispatch, or the military -- serving or retired -- we want to hear from you.

Boots on the Ground Alberta is a 24/7 anonymous peer support line built specifically for first responders and military members in Alberta. When someone calls us, they're talking to someone who gets it. That's only possible because of volunteers like the ones we're looking for right now.

What the role looks like: You'll take calls from fellow first responders and military members who need someone to talk to. No clinical background required. We provide all training at no cost to you before you ever take a call.

The commitment is 16 hours per month -- flexible scheduling, remote from wherever you are in Alberta.

Who we're looking for: Active or retired members from law enforcement, corrections, fire, paramedic services, nursing, 911 operations, or the Canadian Armed Forces who want to give back to the community that shaped them.

Why it matters: Our community doesn't always ask for help easily. Having someone on the other end of the line who has lived a version of the same experience makes a real difference.
