Northern Alberta Director for UFCW Local 401

Become the Northern Director at UFCW Local 401 and lead operations in Northern Alberta, prioritizing equity and worker rights. This role is based in Edmonton. As part of your responsibilities, you will oversee daily operations while managing a team of Labour Relations Officers.

This leadership position requires a strong understanding of union environments and involves fostering collaboration and mentorship among staff. The goal is to enhance member services and support the implementation of strategic initiatives that strengthen the local union’s influence. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise unionized staff across Alberta
• Guide Labour Relations Officers in delivering services
• Implement engaging strategies for member representation
• Cultivate an inclusive and equitable workplace culture
• Assist in leadership and staff development efforts Requirements:
• At least six years in a union leadership role
• Clean Class 5 driver’s license and extensive driving experience
• Solid knowledge of labor relations principles
• Ability to work flexible hours and travel
