Edmonton Crown Prosecutor Position

The ACPS is looking for innovative attorneys for both permanent and temporary roles. As a Crown Prosecutor, your responsibilities will include managing prosecutions, determining public interest, and representing the state effectively. Excellent negotiation and advocacy skills are fundamental to ensure fair outcomes in the justice system.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct courtroom prosecutions and hearings
- Assess and determine appropriate charges
- Draft legal opinions and court documents
- Collaborate with defense counsel and investigators
- Engage with victims and witnesses sensitively
Requirements
- Active membership in the Law Society of Alberta
- LLB or JD from an accredited institution
- Relevant experience based on Crown Prosecutor classification
- Preferable background in criminal law litigation
- Capable of trial preparation and negotiation
