For more information, visit .Role ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Infrastructure Manager, this role may include a variety of responsibilities including assisting with the delivery of program development and project scoping, development permit reviews, planning assignments, and grant administration.A key role for the successful applicant will be coordinating the administration of various grant programs, consistent with provincial guidelines and policies. This will include, but is not limited to, the Alberta Municipal Water/Wastewater Partnership, Water for Life Program, and the Strategic Transportation Infrastructure Program.Responsibilities:
Some of the responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Support Infrastructure Engineers in identifying, reviewing, and programming highway network improvements to enhance safety and mobility;
- Review geometric and safety assessments, planning studies, and develop project cost estimates for new and existing projects;
- Provide technical review of development applications, including drawings and supporting documentation;
- Assist with development of project scoping documents by reviewing assessments, evaluating options, and coordinating with internal stakeholders;
- Support planning projects through Terms of Reference development, technical reviews, consultant selection, and project administration; and
- Coordinate administration and review of infrastructure related grant programs in alignment with provincial policies and guidelines.

QualificationsRequired
- A related two year technical diploma (e.g., Civil Engineering Technology diploma), supplemented by at least 6 years of related experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license.
- Ability to understand and explain contents of technical reports to lay people.
- Negotiation, public consultation, time management and strategic management skills.
- Sound engineering background in transportation safety, construction, and/or planning.
