Legal Advisor for Privacy at Courts
Government of AlbertaJoin the Alberta judiciary as a Legal Advisor focused on privacy and access. You’ll provide legal expertise on information governance for all three Courts in Edmonton or Calgary. This position entails advising court personnel on legislative matters concerning privacy and access to judicial records.
You'll champion the development and implementation of legal information policies that support the operational efficiency of Alberta’s justice system. Training court lawyers and staff is essential to ensure compliance and understanding of strategic legal principles. Key Responsibilities:
- Offer leadership in legal privacy consultations
- Draft and oversee implementation of information policies
- Coach and guide judicial resources on legal practices
- Advise committees on special projects regarding law Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
- 11 years of direct legal experience post-bar
- Good standing with the Law Society of Alberta
- In-depth knowledge of privacy law applications Utilize your seasoned experience to enhance judicial information security in Alberta's legal framework.
