Ministry of Jobs, Economy, Trade and Immigration

Each day in Alberta, more than two million people go to work and fuel Alberta’s economic engine. The Ministry of Jobs, Economy Trade and Immigration supports regional and provincial economic development, promotes international trade and investment, attracts skilled workers and promotes safe, fair and healthy workplaces.

Role Responsibilities

The Ministry of Jobs, Economy Trade and Immigration has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Manager, Immigration Information Services!

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) is an economic immigration program operated by the Economic Immigration Services branch of the Immigration division in Jobs, Economy, Trade and Immigration (JETI) in cooperation with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). AAIP is a key program identified in business plans of the ministry to which it belongs and allows the province to attract and retain foreign workers and entrepreneurs for permanent residence based on Alberta's labour market and economic development priorities.

The Manager, Immigration Information Services leads the delivery of timely, accurate, and high quality information in response to a high volume of complex enquiries. Interest in immigrating to Alberta through the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) remains strong both domestically and internationally and continues to exceed program allocations established by the federal government. As a result, demand for clear, consistent information related to program criteria, application processes, and immigration options is expected to continue increasing.

Program decisions are multi faceted and can have significant impacts on applicants and their ability to obtain permanent resident status in Canada.

Reporting to the Director, Alberta Advantage Immigration Program, the Manager is responsible for leading and reinforcing efficiency, quality, and service standards for responses to enquiries received through program area mailboxes, the Action Request Tracking System (ARTS), and other communication channels. The role ensures that statistical reports and analyses are produced on a regular and as needed basis to support informed program and branch level decision making. The position is also responsible for overseeing program related web content, with a particular focus on statistical information and updates.

Effective management of online content supports enquiry reduction by diverting and redirecting common questions to existing resources, while also providing timely information and education to internal and external stakeholders.
