## Role Responsibilities

As a strategic leader in Alberta’s Transportation and Economic Corridors ministry, the Manager, Program Planning plays a pivotal role in shaping the province’s capital investment future. This position leads the development of annual and quarterly capital plan submissions, drives financial accountability across major infrastructure programs, and provides expert guidance that directly influences executive level decisions. With a blend of analytical strength, collaborative leadership, and program oversight, this role ensures that Alberta’s transportation infrastructure is planned, funded, and managed with precision and long term vision.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of the capital investment portion of the annual and quarterly capital plan submissions.
  • Oversee accurate and timely capital investment reporting, including quarterly submissions and annual reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate on monthly capital forecasting and ensure alignment with financial policies and coding standards.
  • Support in year oversight of capital and select operating programs, including budget allocations, expenditure monitoring, and variance analysis.
  • Manage and mentor a team of planners and analysts, fostering a collaborative, high performance environment.
  • Review and reconcile disaster recovery financial information and prepare claims for the Ministry of Public Safety and Emergency Services.
  • Provide expert advice to senior leadership on capital planning, financial issues, and emerging priorities.
