Government of AlbertaJob Title: Lead Information Officers Ministry: Forestry and Parks Full or Part-Time: Full-Time Permanent/Temporary: Temporary – Wage, Seasonal Administrative Support 3 (AS3) Salary: $23.28 - $29.46 per hour based on 40 hours per week (Administrative Support 3) Employees receive 11.6% in lieu of benefits and vacation leave: 5.6% of regular wage earnings instead of paid holidays, 6% of regular wage earnings instead of annual vacation pay.
Shift premium pay: $3.25 per hour for weekends and holidays, $2.75 per hour for evenings.

Maintain and improve knowledge to provide accurate, concise and relevant information, whether in‑person, by telephone or via email, on recreational activities, park facilities, services, park programs, public safety issues, tourism and travel opportunities, directives, policies and regulations. Receive, respond and manage all customer service issues, concerns, complaints, emergencies, and other feedback professionally and appropriately; escalating these to other departments, such as park rangers, caretaking, maintenance, visitor engagement, visitor services, or your supervisor, as required. assist maintenance/caretaking for light shower building cleaning or light campsite garbage removal; Become a Park specialist with detailed and accurate knowledge of all park areas, natural/cultural history, programs, and conditions (trails, water quality, weather, etc.) to provide the public with current information. Complete all required online, in‑person, and on‑the‑job training.
Complete all required Occupational Health & Safety inspections. Complete personal performance agreements.
Information
Officer (AS2) Use ASPIRA software to operate cash register and point of sale machine for retail sales of products and services, which may include firewood, ice, concession items, ice cream, souvenirs, and rentals. Monitor building security, complete opening and closing tasks/procedures, perform maintenance inspections for safety and cleanliness of facilities; Assist with inventory management and control – restocking of merchandise, brochures, general tidying and informing supervisor of low stock.
Lead Information
Officer (AS3) Provide ongoing support to AS2 Information Officers (IOs) through regular check‑ins on progress and one‑on‑one training. Assist with input for seasonal performance reviews. Place orders for booth and store inventory (where applicable) to ensure proper supplies are available prior to busy campground times.
Provide support for cash and revenue reconciliation. Ensure staff maintain and improve knowledge on recreational activities, park facilities, services, tours, public safety issues, tourism and travel opportunities, directives, policies and regulations. Ensure staff complete Government of Alberta mandatory online courses.

Valid
Class 5 Driver’s License (or equivalent) and a current 3‑year Driver’s Abstract (with no more than 6 demerits).
Current Workplace Hazardous Materials Information
