Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion and serve resident meals according to menus and resident choices.
• Prepare sandwiches, salads, nourishments and hot/cold beverages.
• Prepare breakfast items where applicable.
• Provide residents with appropriate meal choices and portions.
• Set up and sanitize dining rooms, kitchenettes and food-service areas.
• Clean kitchen counters, equipment, refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and floors.
• Wash dishes and cookware according to established procedures.
• Follow food sanitation and safe food-handling practices.
• Label, date, rotate and properly store food and leftovers.
• Stock resident kitchenettes and food-service supplies.
• Check menu cards and diet lists and communicate changes to cooks.
• Complete required food-service audits and temperature checks.
• Follow infection-control and workplace safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 10 education.
• Institutional food-service experience preferred.
• Experience working with elderly residents.
• Experience with basic food preparation.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour

Experience

• LTC: 3 years (required)
