Role Description The GDT Instructor role is a full-time, on-site position based at the Edmonton, AB campus. The instructor is responsible for delivering course content to adult learners, facilitating classroom activities, and ensuring that lessons align with program outcomes and institutional standards. Day-to-day tasks include planning and updating lesson plans, teaching and demonstrating relevant GDT concepts, assessing learner performance, and providing constructive feedback. The instructor will also support learner success through mentoring, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with colleagues to continuously improve course delivery and learning resources. This position requires regular on-campus presence for scheduled classes, office hours, and departmental meetings.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Education and Teaching, with at least 1 year of adult teaching experience.
- Proficiency in Lesson Planning and Training, including developing structured, outcome-based instructional materials.
- Effective Communication skills for engaging adult learners, facilitating discussions, and delivering clear explanations.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience in GDT or related technical fields.
- Post-secondary credential in a related discipline (e.g., engineering technology, drafting, or technical education) is preferred.
- Experience with classroom management, learner assessment, and use of educational technologies.
- Ability to work on campus in Edmonton, AB, and collaborate with a diverse community of learners and colleagues.
